Chemical emergencies have the potential to cause widespread death and illness. Both CDC and Poison Control Centers play important roles in helping define the public health response to chemical emergencies, by providing rapid detection and accurate identification of chemical agents, toxicology information, education programs, and assistance with medical management of exposures. During this COCA call, subject matter experts will discuss biomedical testing for chemical agents, state level poison control center practices, and clinical resources for chemical emergencies.
