- Efficacy of Original Neurofeedback Treatment Method for Brain Fog From COVID-19: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2024 Mar; 16(3):e56519.C
- Brain fog is one of the most well-known sequelae of long COVID. It causes cognitive problems, mostly short-term memory disturbances, attention impairments, and problems with concentration. Although trials for treatment methods for brain fog have been carried out worldwide, effective methods have not yet been reported. Neurofeedback is effective for several common disorders and symptoms, including…

- Differentiating Leukostasis From COVID-19 Pneumonia: Clinical and Radiological Perspectives for the Right Decision-Making. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2024 Mar; 16(3):e56708.C
- Leukostasis is a non-infectious complication of acute leukemia. Pathophysiologically, it is characterized by an accumulation of blasts in the pulmonary capillaries. Clinically, this syndrome of hyperleukocytosis or leucocytosis leads to pulmonary and/or neurological lesions. This is why it must be treated urgently to prevent it from progressing to acute respiratory distress. In 2020, the World He…

- Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) is a rare cause of strokes and is most common in younger patients particularly those less than 50 years of age. It is more common in females than in males and is known to be associated with pregnancy, puerperium, oral contraception, congenital and acquired thrombophilia, and malignancy. Less commonly, it has been shown to be associated with infections and m…

- Rapidly Progressive Contralateral Internal Carotid Artery Stenosis After COVID-19 Infection in a Down Syndrome Patient With Unilateral Moyamoya Arteriopathy. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2024 Mar; 16(3):e56575.C
- Moyamoya arteriopathy is a condition where chronic, progressive stenosis of large intracranial arteries, primarily of the anterior circulation, results in ischemia and the growth of small, abnormal collateral vessels. There is increasing evidence that infectious pathologies, such as COVID-19, may serve as a sort of trigger, or "second hit," for the development of moyamoya arteriopathy. In this ar…

- Fatal arrhythmia associated with novel coronavirus 2019 infection: Case report and literature review. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: Some patients did not exhibit any obvious respiratory symptoms or signs following SARS-CoV-2 infection. This suggests that the cardiac conduction system may be the preferred target for some SARS-CoV-2 variants. Therefore, in addition to investigating the causes of malignant arrhythmias, special attention should be paid to SARS-CoV-2 infection in patients with developing arrhythmias. Additionally, permanent pacemaker implantation may be the most suitable option for patients who already have malignant arrhythmias.

- When Imagination Feels Like Reality: A Case Study of False Memories and Maladaptive Daydreaming in Visual Impairment. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: This first reported case of confabulations in an individual with MD and visual disability suggests daydreams could potentially be mistaken for actual events in some MD cases. While sensitive, more research is needed on the prevalence of false memories among individuals with MD. The default mode network, prefrontal cortex, and their connectivity may be implicated in generating vivid daydreams and misattributing them to actual episodic events. Understanding the relationship between sensory impairments, dissociation, and susceptibility to memory distortions could inform interventions to improve reality testing for some MD patients.

- Anti-synthase syndrome associated with SARS-Cov-2 infection. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: This case presents an early diagnosis and successful treatment of anti-synthetase syndrome combined with SARS-Cov-2 infection, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive physical examination. Additionally, it highlights the rapid progression of interstitial lung disease under SARS-Cov-2 infection, which is often difficult to distinguish on imaging. In cases where treatment for SARS-Cov-2 infection is ineffective, early screening for autoimmune diseases is recommended. As there is currently no standardized method for treating AS-ILD, the successful treatment of this case provides a reference for clinical research on anti-synthetase syndrome in the later stage.
